to help me with keeping this updated, if your character's stuff isn't in here, make a comment saying when and what method was exchanged!
[audio, network number]
Hey, Reilanin, this is Alex. Gimme a call when-- ah, well, I wanna talk to you about that, um, that memory we have-- just talk about it and the others I've gotten since we're, you know, I guess we're from the same 'place'...
So gimme a call when you have the chance, yeah? I'll be up til around seven or so. AM, I mean.
Bye-- oh! Use my network number. Okay, bye.
[audio, network number]
oh, wow, it's actually ringing. that's... that's really bizarre. she traces the face of the phone's cradle while it rings. what happens if he doesn't pick up? does it just... ring in his head? or can it leave a message on his phone, too? she has no idea how this is working. even suspension of belief isn't helping her out much right now. ]
[audio, network number]
Hello?
[audio, network number]
[ she had actually not expected it to pick up! there's a brief pause of wtf now before she reboots ]
Ah- ah, hello. Alexander. It's Reilanin, I'm just calling you back...
[ there is nothing about her tone of voice that indicates she thinks this is normal ]
[audio, network number]
[ after the first few days of radio silence, he'd begun to worry she didn't want to speak with him at all. ]
[audio, network number]
[ that catches her off guard, too, but she doesn't really know what to say to it, so she glosses over it instead ]
I'm... all right. Still getting used to the, ah, the nose... the smelling bit, you know. Or not, I guess.
Ah, and you?
[audio, network number]
Wait, what? Smelling bit?
[audio, network number]
[ and the conversation with lyall, the next echo- she sounds kind of out of it actually ]
There was another one- mm, but you weren't part of it.
[audio, network number]
two werewolves and-- ]
Another one? What happened?
[audio, network number]
[ there's a bit of a pause- she sounds weary when she continues ]
It's just going to keep happening, isn't it? If you can't even know what will trigger one of these things.
[audio, network number]
Was it... more bad news?
[ there, the first acknowledgement of the information that Reilanin ate people -- and the first indication of how Alex feels about it. ]
[audio, network number]
[ another pause, longer this time. she's rubbing the spot between her eyes ]
It was another conversation. About... about differences. The one I remembered, not the one I had. Ah... I haven't contacted the man I was speaking with...
It was a reiteration.
no subject
[ differences? man i was speaking with???
?????? one question at a time. ]
no subject
There appears to be another on the system who is... who is also a werewolf. I mentioned that my sense of smell had changed- ah, that was after I saw you last... my sense of smell's become quite acute. I asked him some questions- er, about his being a werewolf- and they prompted another echo.
no subject
So you're... [ he breathes through his nose and lifts his hand to his mouth. ] So you got the super nose, too, huh...
You said something about differences?
no subject
[ differences, yeah. she trailed off on the conversation with the other person on the network, lost track of it somehow, but she remembers the other conversation to its conclusion. ]
It was a written conversation. Like... writing in a diary, but to someone... and their responses popped up on the pages. It was very bizarre.
We talked about. Mm. Yes, differences. Two different kinds of werewolf. Appearance and, ah... full moon stuff. And eating habits. [ a bit of a deflation there, brisk tone faltering ]
no subject
Two kinds of werewolf, huh? I guess so. You might be a different one than Randy. Are you worried about the full moon? Randy didn't... get that right away, so...
no subject
[ she makes another sound of frustration ] Of course I'm- ugh. [ she stops a moment to rub at her face ] ...as I understand it, control is not... at the top of the priority list. And I don't know how it is for, for Randy, but apparently eating people is always going to be in fashion.
[ oh british accent you make some things sound so wonderfully understated ]
no subject
Maybe it's... Do you have to? Eat... people?
no subject
[ there's silence on her end as well ]
...but I'll want to.
I never seem... upset by it, either. Anytime I'm talking about it. It's just matter of fact.
What kind of person was I...?
no subject
once it's over, he groans. ]
no subject
I think.... ahh... I think I'm done with these for now...
no subject
[ then, stronger ] You felt it again, [ wait a minute there, brain catching up to mouth. ] too?
[ she doesn't sound good. ]
Uhhh... You sure? You all right? Whatever you wanna talk about, you know, because you and I, we're- we're in this together, so...
no subject
not nonchalance, then. resignation. maybe even- maybe even a little enjoyment. a repressed sort of reveling. a sort of i'm not alone has made its way into her words.
'randy' said that the transformation makes him go crazy. will the same happen to her? will it shed that repression?
there's silence. she wasn't listening. there was a lot to take in with that echo ]
......h-huh? What do you- sorry, I wasn't. I didn't hear.
